Today we wrap up our look at the five new 2025–2027 In Colors from the latest Annual Catalogue.  We’ve already explored Darling Duckling, Strawberry Slush, Timid Tiger, and Cloud Cover—now let’s dive into the deep, moody beauty of the final shade in the collection… SECRET SEA.

Secret Sea is a rich, inky blue with a stormy grey base.  It’s more blue-green than Night of Navy and deeper and cooler in tone than Basic Gray.  This elegant scrapbook layout combines Secret Sea and Cloud Cover to create a lush floral background—like a moody, modern garden in full bloom.

Impressions Abloom Stamp Set (photopolymer: 165605) - $42.00

Cardmaking has always been my first love — it’s where my creative heart feels most at home.  But over the years, I’ve dabbled in scrapbooking too, squeezing in the occasional layout when inspiration struck.  Lately though, that spark has been reignited!  The gorgeous new memory-keeping products from Stampin’ Up! and a creative nudge from a recent demonstrator conference (where I made this layout) have me itching to dive back into preserving memories on a page.

Speaking of layouts, how wonderful is this one?  So simple!  Start with a 20 cm x 20 cm (8-1/2" x 8-1/2") piece of White Willow cardstock and stamp all those beautiful flowers from the Impressions Abloom stamp set diagonally across the centre.  I love how beautifully Secret Sea and Cloud Cover go together!  Then add a touch of greenery by stamping leaves in Garden Green ink.

Once you’ve built a lovely, dense floral spray across the cardstock, cut it diagonally — now you have pieces for two layouts!  Add a matching diagonally-cut piece of Secret Sea cardstock opposite the stamping and adhere both pieces to a sheet of Garden Green 12" x 12" Two-Tone cardstock — voilà!

I sure do love the depth of Secret Sea and the richness of this colour combination.

Journaling is such an important part of scrapbooking — it adds context to your photos and captures the thoughts, feelings, and little details that make each memory meaningful.  It’s also a chance to share your voice with those who will discover your pages in the future.  I believe your handwriting, whether neat or messy, is part of that story too!  But for those moments when you’re not loving how your handwriting looks, here’s a fun workaround I recently discovered: type your journaling, print it onto cardstock, then cut it into strips and add them to your layout.  It’s simple, stylish, and still tells your story beautifully!

On my scrapbooking layout, I have laid these journalling strips over the Secret Sea cardstock for a lovely contrast.
