Impressions Abloom Split Background Thank You Card

With the arrival of the 2025–2026 Annual Catalogue, we were introduced to five exciting new colours in the 2025–2027 In Color collection.  I’ve already shared my thoughts on Darling Duckling and Strawberry Slush—today, it’s time to explore the warm, easygoing charm of TIMID TIGER.

2025-2027 In Color Comparison: Pumpkin Pie, Timid Tiger, Calypso Coral

Timid Tiger is a warm, mid-tone orange with soft tangerine undertones.  It’s gentler than Pumpkin Pie and leans more apricot than Calypso Coral.  A pop of Timid Tiger shines through in this simple yet eye-catching thank you card, created with an easy background technique.

Impressions Abloom Stamp Set (photopolymer: 165605) - $42.00

I recently attended a demonstrator conference, and one of the highlights for me was a creative evening where we made four beautiful projects using the Impressions Abloom stamp set and the brand-new 2025–2027 In Colors.  It was inspiring, fun, and full of ideas to bring home!  One of those projects was this striking thank you card featuring a bold split background — here’s how to make it...

Start with a card base in Timid Tiger cardstock.  Then cut a piece of Basic White cardstock to the same size as your card front.  Using the Impressions Abloom stamp set, stamp an all-over floral pattern.  I began by stamping the stems and leaves in Granny Apple Green, then layered flowers in a mix of In Colors: the daisy in Timid Tiger, the large blossom in Darling Duckling, and the two smaller flowers in Strawberry Slush.

Now for the fun part — carefully cut your stamped Basic White panel diagonally in both directions with a Stampin' Trimmer.  Don’t worry about being exact — just go with what looks good!  Adhere the four pieces to your card front, spacing them slightly to let the Timid Tiger base peek through the gaps.  Finally, trim away any overhanging edges to tidy it up.

This split background technique is quick, easy, and delivers such an eye-catching result — perfect for showing off this vibrant new colour palette!
