Impressions Abloom Appreciation Card

The launch of the new 2025–2026 Annual Catalogue brings us five gorgeous, on-trend colours joining the Stampin’ Up! collection for the next two years.  In this post—and over the next four—I’ll be sharing my thoughts on each of the new 2025–2027 In Colors, starting with the sunny and cheerful DARLING DUCKLING.

2025-2027 In Color Comparison: Daffodil Delight, Darling Duckling, Lemon Lime Twist

Darling Duckling is a cheerful, buttery yellow with a warm glow.  It’s softer than Daffodil Delight and deeper than the zesty Lemon Lime Twist.  I used this sunny hue to create a bright monochromatic card, featuring the beautiful blooms of the Floral Impressions Suite Collection.

This "I appreciate you" card started with the idea of creating a textured window, framing the brilliant Darling Duckling hue.  So, I added the Darling Duckling gridded patterned paper from the Floral Impressions Designer Series Paper to the front of a Basic White card base, then stamped the detailed daisy image a few times on the patterned paper in Darling Duckling ink—they look like little sunbursts!

To frame this vibrant colour, I cut a second piece of Basic White cardstock, a little bit smaller than my card front.  Then, I die-cut out a window with the lovely, big oval die from the Impressions Abloom Bundle.  The frame was run through the Pressed Flowers Embossing Folder to add that gorgeous texture before adding it to the card front with Stampin' Dimensionals.

There are four clustered elements that finishes my greeting card: (1) I heat embossed the words with White Embossing Powder onto a strip of Pecan Pie cardstock and trimmed a v-shape in each end to create a banner.  (2) I tied a bow with Linen Thread and adhered it to the banner before adding the banner to the card front with Stampin' Dimensionals.  (3) I stamped the detailed daisy image in Darling Duckling ink onto Basic White cardstock and then the solid, matching image over the top, also in Darling Duckling ink, but stamping off the ink once for a lighter finish.  I repeated this for the centre of the daisy but with Pecan Pie ink.  The flower was die-cut out and added to the card front with a Stampin' Dimensional.  And lastly, (4) I added three clear gems with gold flecks.  These delightful embellishments were from the Strawberry Slush & Pretty In Pink Gems pack.
