Meandering Meadows Double-Decker Pop-Out Birthday Card

The Meandering Meadows 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper is so easy to use.  I have almost used all 48 sheets of patterned paper that comes in the pack!  Here is one of the gorgeous watercolour landscapes from the Meandering Meadows Designer Series Paper, added to a fun-fold birthday card.

This fun-fold card is the same design as the Christmas Double-Decker Pop-Out Card that I shared a while ago.  The front panel is suspended on a z-fold card base and inside is a fun stepped panel that pops out when you open the card.

Speaking of the front panel... this is my favourite part of this birthday card.  The hand-painted scene that I chose from the Meandering Meadows Designer Series Paper pack had hints of bright yellow-green, so I used Lemon Lime Twist cardstock to die-cut a grassy knoll, which I then enhanced by sponging Lemon Lime Twist ink around the edges using a Small Blending Brush.  I also die-cut a fence from Pecan Pie cardstock and sponged it with Pecan Pie ink.  I used these grass and fence elements on the front panel, to build up the meadow scene along with some brass dragonflies.

Lastly, the birthday sentiment for this fun-fold card was simply stamped using Lemon Lime Twist ink and finished with a flourish of Pecan Pie thread, which was pulled from the Pecan Pie Centre Striped Ribbon.

I love the idea of taking one of the scenes from the Meandering Meadows Designer Series Paper pack and building more detail into it with die-cut elements.  If I have enough sheets of patterned paper left, I think I will create another greeting card with this same idea.
