It was my eldest daughter's 13th birthday over the weekend and I wanted to create a very special card for her. It needed to be girly and pretty so I used flowers, lace, doilies and the sweet colour combination from the new challenge on the Around the World Stampin' Up! Challenges site.
Stamps: Happy Watercolor (wood: 133188, clear: 133191), Sassy Salutations (wood: 132070, clear: 126707). Ink: Pistachio Pudding (131177), Blushing Bride (131172), So Saffron (126957), Soft Suede (126978). Card/Paper: Pistachio Pudding (131299), Blushing Bride (131287), So Saffron (108611), Whisper White (106549), Pistachio Pudding Core'dinations (2013-2015 In Colors: 129958). Accessories: Essentials Hardware Clips (129964), Tea Lace Paper Doilies (129399), Delicate Details Lace Tape (130966), Linen Thread (104199), So Saffron and Blushing Bride Candy Dots (Subtles: 130933), Rhinestone Basic Jewels (119246). Tools: Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine (113439), Magnetic Platform (130658), On Film Framelit Dies (132969), Petite Petals Punch (133322), Envelope Punch Board (133774), Stampin Trimmer (129722), Stampin' Sanding Block (129367), Stampin’ Dimensionals (104430).
Delicate cards are really lovely but, as this one was for my teenager (not my grandmother), I wanted to make it more edgy so I stamped splashes of colour from the Happy Watercolor stamp set, highlighted with Candy Dots, and accentuated it all using a polaroid frame. Do you see the texture on the polaroid frame? I used Pistachio Pudding Core'dinations card stock, die-cut with the polaroid framelit from the On Film dies, then sanded.
My daughter is an avid follower of card-making trends and she loved that I created a File Folder Card for her using the Envelope Punch Board, especially when the arrow paper clip secured money towards her first mobile phone!
The colour combination of Pistachio Pudding, Blushing Bride, So Saffron and Whisper White is really adorable. Perfect for this card, but would also work fabulously for anything Easter.
Now it's your turn! Just create your paper-craft project in these colours and add your photo to the bottom of the challenge post (where it says "It's your turn!") on the Around The World Stampin' Up! Challenge website.
