Let’s talk about my project…

Take a look at this elegant double-layer fun-fold card in non-traditional Christmas colours of Golden Glow and Secret Sea!

Bundles: Holly Jolly Branches Stamp Set + Holly Jolly Branches Dies (photopolymer: 168280). Ink: Golden Glow (167676), Secret Sea (165285). Card/Paper: Golden Glow (167686), Secret Sea 12" x 12" Two-Tone (166709), Basic White (166781), Shimmering Stripes 12" x 12" Specialty Paper (168197), Gold Foil Sheets (132622). Accessories: Secret Sea & Gold 1/4" Satin Ribbon (168317). Tools: Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine (149653), Stylish Shapes Dies (159183), Small Blending Brushes (160518), Stampin’ Dimensionals (104430).

This festive card with a beautifully layered front is deceptively simple and easily adapted for any occasion. The card base is actually two! The outer is Golden Glow cardstock, and the front is a little short, exposing the second card base (a smidge smaller) tucked inside. For the inner card, I used Secret Sea Two-Tone cardstock so you get a lovely tonal difference on the outside and inside (which you will see in the photos further down).

For this Christmas card, I have used the Holly Jolly Branches Bundle, starting with that cheerful “sending joy always” sentiment on the front, along with the stunning Secret Sea & Gold 1/4" Satin Ribbon, which not only looks great but ties a gorgeous bow.

To bring the bling, I used the Shimmering Stripes Specialty Paper and gave it some life by using a Small Blending Brush to add a layer of Golden Glow ink, then finished the card front with shiny, die-cut stars from Gold Foil Sheets.

Peek behind the shortened front and you’ll find the middle layer, with more stars and layers of die-cut trees…

These trees are die-cut from Secret Sea Two-Tone cardstock, and I have used both the dark and light sides of this versatile cardstock. I then playfully added stamped spots, stripes, and curls to the trees – and they turn up again on the inner layer, where you write your message!
