Playful Packaging Christmas Gable Box

Creativity Abounds Blog Hop

There’s something rather lovely about a little Christmas spirit in the middle of winter — and this month, the Creativity Abounds Design Team is bringing plenty of it! I’m delighted to be crafting alongside them again as we share our Christmas in July Tutorial Bundle. July really is the perfect time to get a head start on your Christmas projects — a little creativity now means a lot less rush come December!

Each month, our international team of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators comes together to create a themed collection of tutorials, and this time we’re wrapping ourselves in festive cheer with cards, gift packaging, and beautiful handmade projects. This inspiring bundle includes 13 exclusive tutorials, each with full step-by-step instructions.  You can receive the full tutorial bundle FREE with a $100+ order in July (excluding shipping), or purchase it outright for $25.

To celebrate its release, we’re also hosting a Creativity Abounds Blog Hop, packed with even more festive inspiration. Be sure to hop along — there are so many merry ideas waiting to spark your early Christmas crafting!

Let’s talk about my project…

I love, love, love making pretty gift packaging, especially at Christmas. There’s something so satisfying about taking a little chocolate treat, some yummy sweets, or a few homemade goodies and dressing them up in beautiful handmade wrapping. So, for my Christmas in July inspiration, I reached for the gorgeous new White Gable Boxes

Accessories: Peaceful Pine Shimmer Brush (167665), Everyday Borders Accents (168217), Rhinestone Basic Jewels (144220), Peaceful Pine 3/8" Bordered Ribbon (167551), White Embossing Powder (Basics WOW! How beautiful are those colours? Mixing traditional red and green with a peachy pink creates such a fresh take on Christmas. It’s festive, elegant, and just a little unexpected! Here’s how I decorated my White Gable Box.

I started with a 5 cm (2”) high strip of Crisp Cantaloupe gingham patterned paper from the new 2026-2028 In Color Gingham Gallery Designer Series Paper. Along the bottom edge, I added a scalloped Everyday Borders Accents piece, coloured with Peaceful Pine ink using a Small Blending Brush, then finished the top edge with a narrow strip of Peaceful Pine cardstock.

Before wrapping the decorative band around the box, I had a little fun! I splattered the bottom half of the White Gable Box with the glittery Peaceful Pine Shimmer Brush. It was so much messy fun — and absolutely worth it!

The bold “JOY” was die-cut from Crisp Cantaloupe cardstock using the Party Alphabet Dies, while the stamped greeting and sweet floral die-cuts all come from the Playful Packaging Bundle.

Speaking of the Playful Packaging Bundle… I’ve also used it for my Christmas in July tutorial project, this time paired with the 6” x 8” Cellophane Bags to package up some festive treats. There are so many fun goodies you could pop inside, making this a wonderfully versatile project for Christmas gifting.
