The Double Vision technique is a fun paper-crafting technique that creates a shifting, dimensional effect by cutting patterned paper into strips and alternating the height of each strip on the card front. Here’s how I created this birthday card…
- Cut one postcard image from the Designer Series Paper and trim it to 4-1/2" wide.
- Cut a piece of Misty Moonlight cardstock slightly larger than the postcard image.
- Cut the postcard image into nine 1/2" strips.
- Adhere the first strip to the left edge of the Misty Moonlight cardstock using Stampin’ Dimensionals, leaving an even border around the top, bottom, and side.
- Align the second strip with the first, then adhere it flat with glue or tape.
- Continue adhering the remaining strips, alternating between lifting them with Stampin’ Dimensionals and gluing them flat. Finish with the final strip raised on Stampin' Dimensionals.
- Adhere the completed Double Vision panel to a Pecan Pie card base, then finish with pretty stamped elements and a flourish of Linen Thread in the bottom-right corner.

This technique is such a clever way to add dimension and movement to your card front, and it works beautifully with scenic or patterned papers like this one. If you’d like to give it a go, grab your favourite Designer Series Paper, coordinating cardstock, and some Stampin’ Dimensionals, and start experimenting — it’s easier than it looks and so much fun!
