Let’s talk about my project…

I’ve been spotting lots of Double Vision Cards lately, so I decided it was time to give one a try!  This fun paper-crafting technique creates a shifting, dimensional effect by cutting patterned paper into strips and alternating their height on the card front.

Moonlit Flora Double Vision Masculine Card

Bundles: Fern & Flora Stamp Set + Fern & Flora Dies (photopolymer: 167745). Ink: Secret Sea (165285), Soft Sea Foam (147102), Mossy Meadow (147111). Card/Paper: Secret Sea (165296), Mossy Meadow (133683), Basic White (166781), Moonlit Flora 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper (167737). Accessories: Dewdrops Embellishments (167748). Tools: Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine (149653), Fern & Flora 3D Embossing Folder (167744), Sponge Daubers (133773), Stampin' Dimensionals (104430).

This technique works beautifully with scenic patterned paper, so I reached for a 4-1/2” x 3” piece of Moonlit Flora Designer Series Paper with those gorgeous moody tones.  I cut it into 1/2” strips and adhered them to a 4-3/4” x 3-1/4” piece of Secret Sea cardstock, alternating the height for extra texture and dimension.

The first strip is raised on Stampin’ Dimensionals, the second adhered directly to the cardstock, the third raised again — and so on, finishing with the ninth strip on Dimensionals.  The result is a high-impact panel that looks wonderfully textured while being surprisingly simple to create.

The card base is also Secret Sea cardstock, with the front embossed using the beautiful Fern & Flora 3D Embossing Folder for even more texture.  I then added a flourish of die-cut ferns and embellishments to frame the sentiment and complete the design.

And there’s more!  I used the fabulous Moonlit Flora Suite again to create a second masculine-themed project, which you’ll find inside this month’s tutorial bundle.
