Last week I had an amazing three days in Sydney, attending our demonstrator-only annual conference, OnStage — a wonderful time spent learning, creating, exchanging ideas, reconnecting with international friends, and making some wonderful new ones too.

A couple of my team members joined me for the event, so I made each of them a small gift to celebrate our time together.  I used the elegant new Delicate Dreams Suite to decorate and personalise a notebook for each of them — not just a practical gift, but a beautiful one too!

I purchased these A5-sized notebooks from a local stationery store because I loved the sturdy kraft covers and the pop of blue in the ring binding and elastic closure.  I knew they would work beautifully with the soft, natural look and feel of the Delicate Dreams Suite.

To start, I cut a 4 cm (1-1/2”) strip of patterned paper from the Delicate Dreams 12” x 12” Specialty Designer Series Paper — the one with the linen-style texture — and tore the long edge for a soft, organic finish.  Next, I cut a 6.5 cm (2½”) strip from the stunning floral patterned paper in gorgeous blues and rich earthy tones.

I layered the two strips together and positioned them along the right edge of the notebook cover so I could see exactly where they would sit.  This made it easy to stamp that gorgeous floral flourish directly onto the cover using Crumb Cake ink.

After adhering the patterned paper to the notebook cover, I finished the design with three delicate white die-cut flowers.  Both the stamped flourish and the elegant flowers come from the Delicate Whispers Bundle, which coordinates beautifully with the rest of the suite.
