I’ve used both of these fabulous elements from the Lovely & Beautiful Suite to create this elegant birthday card — and it really is a card for someone special.

This design is an asymmetric gatefold card with one side that concertinas out.  The card base is cut at 29.5 cm x 14.8 cm, then scored at 7 cm, 17.5 cm, and 23.5 cm.  The right edge is the perfect place to show off one of the gorgeous patterned papers from the Lovely & Beautiful 12” x 12” Designer Series Paper pack.

On the front of the card sits a bold, beautiful bloom.  I picked out the colours from the patterned paper — Calypso Coral, Petal Pink, Old Olive, and Daffodil Delight — and die-cut the flower and leaf layers from Two-Tone cardstock.  By using both sides of the cardstock, I was able to create a soft gradient of colour through the petals for a really striking flower.
