A week ago, I hosted our bi-monthly Scrapbooking Escape, and at the January event we created with the fabulous Exploring Nature Scrapbooking Workshop Kit. It was such a fun, relaxed day of creativity! Today I’m sharing one of the three double-page layouts I completed.

Exploring Nature Scrapbooking Kit (166934) - $76.00
Makes three two-page 12" x 12" scrapbook spreads
The earthy tones and adventure-inspired elements in this kit were perfect for capturing memories from our short stop at Opepe Scenic and Historic Reserve. It’s a lovely place to pause just outside Taupō when travelling along the Napier–Taupō Road. If you’re looking to break up the journey, it’s an easy walk through beautiful, rugged, and largely untouched bush.
This first page has plenty of space to showcase photos and tell the story of our visit. I loved adding clusters of the pre-printed elements and stickers — they add interest, guide the eye, and really help highlight the photos and the moment.

The second page continues the story, with more photos and room for journaling, again finished with those fun coordinating accents that bring everything together.

One of my favourite things about the Scrapbooking Workshop Kits is that each one includes a fun (and very achievable!) technique. In the Exploring Nature Kit, we created texture by spritzing Two-Tone cardstock with water, gently crushing it, then opening it up and letting it dry flat. The result is a beautifully wrinkled texture, which you can see used on the photo mats behind the pictures.

If you love days like this — creating meaningful layouts, learning new techniques, and enjoying uninterrupted crafty time — registrations are now open for the March Scrapbooking Escape. We’ll be creating with the gorgeous Currently Loving Scrapbooking Workshop Kit, featuring soft florals and clean, simple designs that let your photos shine. It’s a full day just for you, and I’d love to have you join us.
