Today is release day for the February Product of the Month, and while I don’t have the Painted Illusions 12” x 12” Designer Series Paper in my hands just yet, I have been happily creating with the January Product of the Month, which is still available while supplies last. The Fabulous Sayings stamp set stole my heart straight away — those large, handwritten script sentiments are gorgeous, so naturally, they became the star of this birthday card.

I started with a 4.5 cm (1-3/4”) strip of Basic White cardstock and wanted a soft, subtle background of repeated “happy” stamping in Bubble Bath ink. To get the spacing perfectly even, I reached for the new Stampin’ Positioner — and wow, this tool makes repeat stamping a breeze. While the release date of this stamp alignment tool hasn't been announced yet, I am fortunate to have it in my hands already.
The Stampin’ Positioner features pegs along the base that allow the stamping plates to lock neatly into place. I positioned my cardstock on the Base Plate, added the “happy birthday” stamp, then used the Small Alignment Plate (locked into those pegs) to pick up and mount the stamp.
Once everything was aligned, it was simply a matter of inking the stamp in Bubble Bath ink and stamping. Then I moved the Small Alignment Plate down to the next set of pegs and stamped again — re-inking each time — until I had a beautifully even background.

With my stamped panel complete, it was time to assemble the card. The card base is Strawberry Slush cardstock, layered with coordinating Strawberry Slush patterned paper from the Mixed Up Patterns Designer Series Paper. I added a narrow strip of Bubble Bath patterned paper from the same pack along the edge of the stamped panel for a little extra detail.

To finish the card, I stamped “happy birthday” in full using Strawberry Slush ink, fussy cut the sentiment, and popped it up on the card front with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals. A few Pearlized Faceted Circles were the perfect touch of bling to finish it off.
And, I couldn't resist decorating the inside of the card too!
