I love when a workshop project lines up perfectly with old family memories—like this layout from the Keeping Traditions Scrapbooking Workshop Kit, filled with photos from our extended family’s Boxing Day brunch way back in 2003.  A little slice of history preserved on paper.

The first page includes three 3” x 3” photos of the cousins playing outside together on the slide and swing set.  I actually had more photos than the layout called for (a very familiar situation!), so I added a 3” x 3” Flip Flap to the top left photo.  This isn’t included in the kit but is such a handy way to add more photos without creating clutter or changing the design.

On the front of the Flip Flap is a sweet moment—one cousin waiting patiently at the bottom of the slide for the other cousin who’s perched at the top, getting ready to come down.  Lift the flap and underneath is the “after”, with both cousins smiling at the bottom of the slide, the moment complete.

The second page captures more of the day: the extended family gathered around the table, sharing brunch, chatting, catching up, and enjoying that relaxed Boxing Day tradition.  It’s amazing how quickly these moments fade from memory, which is exactly why I love layouts like this—they bring those small, special snapshots back to life.
