Let’s talk about my project…

Have you seen the new Online Exclusive products released this month?  There are some fabulous Christmas goodies in the mix!  For my Christmas in July project, I used the oh-so-cute Long Time No See stamp set—one of my favourites from this release.  What I love most is that it’s great for Christmas and all year long!

Long Time No See Stamp Set (photopolymer: 166189) - $42.00

I paired this fun stamp set with the new Iridescent Treat Bags to create a sweet and shiny gift wrapping idea.  These cellophane bags are absolutely stunning and a super versatile size: 10 cm x 15 cm (4" x 6").

Here’s how to create this festive little treat...

First (this is the yummy part!), fill one of the Iridescent Treat Bags with chocolate or other goodies.  Cut a piece of the Strawberry Slush sheet from the Flowering Garden Foils Specialty Paper to 10 cm x 8 cm (4" x 3"), score at 4 cm (1-1/2"), and fold in half over the top of the bag.  Staple the topper in place to seal in the treats—don’t worry, the next step hides the staples!

Die-cut a 6.5 cm (2-1/2") circle from Basic White cardstock and stamp “Merry Christmas” in Tuxedo Black Memento ink.  Adhere this circle to the topper, covering the staples neatly.

Next, stamp the adorable dachshund in Tuxedo Black Memento ink and colour him with Pecan Pie and Basic Black Stampin’ Blends.  His striped jumper gets a pop of festive colour with Strawberry Slush and Lemon Lime Twist Stampin' Blends.

For a little extra sparkle, stamp the string of lights along his long body, then colour Rhinestone Basic Jewels with the dark Strawberry Slush and Lemon Lime Twist Stampin' Blends and place them over the bulbs.  This is such a simple technique with big wow-factor!  (And here’s a little teaser: I’ve used the llama from this same stamp set with this technique in my Christmas in July tutorial project—you’re going to want to make that card!)

To finish, fussy cut the Christmas pup and pop him up with Stampin’ Dimensionals above the greeting on the topper.  And just like that—your festive treat wrapping is done!
