We created two projects at the recent Annual Catalogue Launch Party.  One featured the playful new Sweet Jar Bundle, and this second project is a beautiful friendship card made with the fabulous Feathered Friends stamp set.

Feathered Fun Stamp Set (165336) - $45.00

Before diving into the details of this card, let’s talk about reversible stamp sets.  The Feathered Friends stamp set is a reversible photopolymer set, which means each stamp has two sides you can use—one with a detailed outline and one with a smooth solid back for blocking in colour.  It’s like getting twice the creativity from a single set!

To create our stunning multicolour parakeet (which looks a lot like a vibrant blue-green budgie), we first stamped the outline image in Tuxedo Black Memento ink.  Then came the fun part: we flipped the coordinating stamp over to use the solid side and applied three inks using Sponge Daubers—Lemon Lolly at the head, Lemon Lime Twist through the body, and Pretty Peacock on the wings and tail.  Stamping this over the outline gave us a rich, blended look full of personality and colour.

We completed the card with a sentiment from the Blooming Phrases stamp set.  The elegant flourish on the end of “hello there” made the perfect perch for our feathered friend.  To tie it all together, we added a scattering of Shades of Green Hexagons, highlighting the fresh colour palette and giving the card a lovely finishing touch.
