This year has gone so fast and it seems Christmas is just around the corner. In fact, it's only 100 days away! So last week, I whipped out my first Christmas card of the year, one with a pretty gingerbread house on the front using the oh-so-sweet Humble Home Bundle.

Humble Home Stamp Set + Humble Home Builder Punch (photopolymer: 164094) - $83.50
This cute card began with the idea of creating a gingerbread house that looked like a gingerbread biscuit by heat embossing the pretty house image from the Humble Home stamp set with White Embossing Powder onto Pecan Pie cardstock, then punching it out with the coordinating Humble Home Builder Punch. Further cuteness is added with a Red & White Peppermint door handle - love this!
Behind the gingerbread house, I used a Blending Brush to apply a soft, circular layer of Summer Splash ink onto a square of Basic White cardstock and then stamped over the blended ink with "MERRY CHRISTMAS" multiple times in the same colour ink. This inking technique is a fun way to use your sentiment stamps as a background.
That fun, embossed background is the Forever Plaid 3D Embossing Folder. Have you seen these new embossing folders? Some are a whopping 15 cm x 21.5 cm or 6" x 8-1/2" in size! These are great when you emboss a whole card front or something larger. I have used this beautiful embossing folder to add texture to the card front, and then when you untie the Summer Splash ribbon...
... inside is a fun pocket for adding a credit card-sized voucher and I have added more of the pretty plaid texture to the pocket front. I always have a few of these Christmas voucher cards on hand as they are great for personalising and wrapping an otherwise impersonal gift.
So, that's my first Christmas card done and dusted. Have you started your Christmas creating?
