I made this special birthday card for hubby back in April when he had a rather significant birthday.  His gift was a glider flight voucher to celebrate, which is why I created this aeroplane birthday card with the fabulous Take to the Sky Suite.

This plane-themed birthday card was created in a similar way as the Hot Air Balloon Slider Card I shared a while ago but with an alternative orientation.  The card base is Boho Blue cardstock cut and folded to create a pocket envelope.  On the card front, I have adhere the pretty patterned paper with fluffy cloud designs from the Take to the Sky Designer Series Paper pack.  The two aeroplanes were stamped in Mossy Meadow ink onto Basic White cardstock and die-cut out with the matching dies.  I then used a Blender Pen and more Mossy Meadow ink to quickly give a wash of colour over the planes.

When you pull on the tassels, the inside slides out of the pocket and...

... the large aeroplane flies across the front of the slider card!  This aeroplane is connected through a slot cut into the front of the pocket envelope to the Basic White Thick cardstock tucked inside.  Pulling the slider card not only opens the inside message but also reveals a hidden sky banner or aerial billboard trailing behind the plane on the card front stamped with "Happy Birthday"!

The slider card design takes a little effort to create but is a perfect card for celebrating a significant milestone.
