Country Flowers Custom Personalised Encouraging Bookmarks

We all created two fun projects at the recently held Annual Catalogue Launch Party.  One of them was these pretty bookmarks.  It is fun to find new ways to use paper crafting products to create more than just greeting cards!

Country Flowers Custom Personalised Encouraging Bookmarks

Stamps: Country Flowers (photopolymer: 163405).  Ink: Tuxedo Black Memento (132708).  Stampin' Blends: Smoky Slate (154904), Pretty In Pink (163824), Petal Pink (154893), Summer Splash (163826), Wild Wheat (161661).  Card/Paper: Petal Pink (147009), Basic White Thick (159230), Country Woods 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper (163393).  Accessories: Petal Pink & White 1/4" Diagonal Trim Combo Pack (163417), White Baker's Twine (Baker's Twine Essentials Pack: 155475).  Tools: Keeping Tabs (Punch: 163538, Die: 163539), Stampin’ Dimensionals (104430).

These bookmarks are quite simple to create.  The time-consuming part is colouring the beautiful floral bouquets from the Country Flowers stamp set.  We stamped the images onto the woodgrain patterned paper from the Country Woods Designer Series Paper Pack in Tuxedo Black Memento ink.  Some chose the milk urn as a vase and some chose the tea kettle, both look amazing!  Then we used Smoky Slate, Petal Pink, Pretty In Pink, Summer Splash, and Wild Wheat Stampin' Blends to add bright or subtle colouring to the image.  The idea of stamping and colouring on the Country Woods Designer Series Paper was inspired by the cute note cards on page 49 of the annual catalogue.

Country Woods 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper (163393) - $26.25
Twelve sheets of patterned paper: 2 each of 6 double-sided designs

The finished coloured image was adhered to a piece of Basic White Thick cardstock (for stability) and their choice of encouraging words was added with Stampin' Dimensionals.

We added ribbon to the top edge of our personalised bookmarks to make them more special.  Petal Pink cardstock was punched using the Keeping Tabs Punch, it was folded in half, a hole was punched through the top, then adhesive was added between the two layers and adhered to the top of the bookmark, making sure that the tab sat above the bookmark and the holes were clear.  Lengths of the pretty Petal Pink and White Diagonal Trim were threaded through the holes and secured with a Baker's Twine bow.

Wouldn't it be wonderful to open your latest novel and be encouraged by the words and beautiful images on this lovely bookmark?
