Perennial Lavender Thinking of You Card

If you have a keen eye, you may recognise the lavender arrangement on the front of this Thinking of You Card from a photographed home decor project in the current mini catalogue.  I loved how the artisan arranged that purple spray of flowers, so made a plan to reproduce it as a greeting card using the Perennial Lavender Suite.

The bouquet begins with a fun inking technique.  I inked the lavender stamp in Fresh Freesia ink and then applied spots of Highland Heather ink directly onto the stamp using a Sponge Dauber.  That way, when I stamp the image, I have a beautiful two-toned spray of lavender.  I stamped a second lavender image in Highland Heather ink, die-cut them both out, and then adhered them together with Mini Stampin' Dimensionals

There is a little more to my bouquet than just the lavender flowers.  I also stamped two bunches of stems in Shaded Spruce ink and die-cut them out.  While I was die-cutting, also cut out some foliage from Shaded Spruce and Lost Lagoon cardstocks.  Then, I had what I needed to put it all together.

I chose the lovely, muted patterned paper from the Perennial Lavender Designer Series Paper for the front of my card.  To that I added the stems and lavender flowers, then tucked the die-cut foliage underneath, to fill out the bouquet.  On top of the bouquet, where the flowers meet the stems, I used Mini Glue Dots to adhere two bows, one tied with Lost Lagoon Ribbon and one from Linen Thread.  Then one of the Paper Butterfly Accents was strategically placed to cover the ribbon knot, and the words adhered over the top using Mini Stampin' Dimensionals.  The last touch was to add a scattering of Purple Fine Shimmer Gems in and around the bouquet.

Perennial Lavender Thinking of You Card

The Perennial Lavender Suite is so pretty and I am enjoying creating with all the fun products in the collection.  I especially love how this Thinking of You Card turned out, with all the beautiful layering and small details.  However, I will be one that I will hand someone as it is a little bulky for posting.
