Before you order...
There are unforeseen quality issues with the Cloud Cover Classic Stampin' Pad—the ink colour was shifting beyond Stampin' Up!'s quality parameters, resulting in a fluctuating colour. Because Stampin' Up! prides themselves on offering beautiful coordinating colours, this inconsistency simply won’t do, and the Cloud Cover Classic Stampin' Pad has been withdrawn. The 2025-2027 In Color Classic Stampin' Pad Bundle, which includes the Cloud Cover Classic Stampin' Pad, has also been withdrawn. Instead, the remaining In Color shades—Strawberry Slush, Timid Tiger, Darling Duckling, and Secret Sea—will be available for purchase individually.
For those of you who want to know the nitty-gritty... a chemical reaction between the Cloud Cover ink formula and the chemical makeup of the firm foam used in our Classic Stampin’ Pads has been determined to be the cause of the colour shift. Such a reaction is rare, but the chemistry can play tricks, even after development and rigorous quality testing.
But don't despair! Here are some tips and ideas to help you keep stamping with Cloud Cover...
- All other Cloud Cover products, including the Cloud Cover Classic Stampin' Ink Refill, are still available.
- Because the actual Cloud Cover ink formula performs well before it’s added to a foam pad, all is not lost if you want to get in on the inky action. The Stampin’ Spots are made using felt; this unpredictable chemical response has not been seen with this material. Pair the Cloud Cover Classic Stampin' Ink Refill with the Uninked Stampin’ Spots to create your own Cloud Cover stamp pad!
- Did you see... the Classic Stampin' Spot Small Assortment 1 includes Cloud Cover!
- Don't forget, you can also ink your stamps using the Cloud Cover Stampin’ Write Marker, available in the 2025–2027 In Color Stampin’ Write Markers collection.
