Q & A - Big Shot
A "sandwich" is a term used to describe the order of layers for passing through a die-cutting machine. Below are the sandwich stacks for each of the Big Shot dies.
Originals and Bigz Dies
Original dies are steel-ruled dies measuring 12 x 14 cm.
Bigz dies are steel-ruled dies measuring 14 x 15.2 cm.
Sandwich (starting from the bottom):
- Standard Cutting Pad (comes with your Big Shot machine)
- Die, blade up
- Material to be cut
- Standard Cutting Pad* (comes with your Big Shot machine)
*Replace the top cutting pad for the Standard Premium Crease Pad if the die has scoring lines.
Bigz XL Dies
Bigz XL dies are steel-ruled dies measuring 15.2 x 35 cm.
Sandwich (starting from the bottom):
- Extended Cutting Pad
- Die, blade up
- Material to be cut
- Extended Cutting Pad*
*Replace the top cutting pad for the Extended Premium Crease Pad if the die has scoring lines.
Sizzlits Dies
Sizzlits dies are chemically-etched dies measuring 5.7 x 6.7 cm. Medium Sizzlets dies measure 9.5 x 6.4 cm.
Sandwich (starting from the bottom):
- Multipurpose Platform Tab 1 (comes with your Big Shot machine)
- Standard Cutting Pad (comes with your Big Shot machine)
- Die, blade up
- Cardstock or paper to be cut
- Standard Cutting Pad (comes with your Big Shot machine)
Embosslits Dies
Embosslits dies are chemically-etched dies measuring 5.7 x 6.4 cm. These dies simultaneously cut and emboss.
Sandwich (starting from the bottom):
- Multipurpose Platform Tab 1 (comes with your Big Shot machine)
- Standard Cutting Pad (comes with your Big Shot machine)
- Embosslit with cardstock or paper inside
- Standard Cutting Pad (comes with your Big Shot machine)
Textured Impressions Embossing Folders
Textured Impressions Embossing folders measure 11.4 x 14.6 cm.
Sandwich (starting from the bottom):
- Multipurpose Platform Tab 1 (comes with your Big Shot machine)
