Over the last month, I've enjoyed making each of the cards from this kit and found the colouring very relaxing and the cards enjoyable to create. Here's one of the four card designs from the Color Me Happy Project Kit. This Thank You card is the simplest as there is no shading or blending, just rich block-colouring in Night of Navy and Pool Party...
When you start playing with shadows, shading and blending with the Stampin' Blends, this next card, the So Happy For You card, is good practice. All the flowers on this card are coloured using the Pink Pirouette Light Stampin' Blend and Dark Stampin' Blend. I started with the light colour first, for an overall base coat, then added the dark colour where shadows would fall (for example, the deepest part of flower, under petal curls and petals that are behind others), and finished with the light colour again to blend away any harsh lines.
Colouring from light to dark (like I've done here) or dark to light is up to you. Click HERE for tips on how to colour and blend dark and light colours.
I've used the same light, then dark, then light again colouring technique to finish these two cuties in Pink Pirouette and Pool Party...
Those birds are so sweet and I think it's my favourite design from the Color Me Happy Project Kit.
For the final card in the project kit, this time I started with the darker colour to outline the Pool Party and Pumpkin Pie lanterns, feathering some of the colour towards the middle. I then added the lighter colour to complete the image, blending out from the darker areas. To give the lanterns a glowing-look, I added some highlights to the lanterns using the Color Lifter.
