To celebrate the launch of the Autumn-Winter Mini Catalogue I had cake and coffee at my house on 1 April. Yes I know there were a number who couldn't come because of Easter, but because of the school holidays and the April workshops it was that date or nothing! However, the few that came had a play with the new products and shared ideas over cake and coffee. It was a fun night.
We played with the new die-cutting machine, the Sizzix Big Shot, to create this cute little treat pouch, which is perfect for holding a Whittakers Milk Chocolate Square or decorative soap.

Stamps: Vintage Vogue (w: 119191). Card/Paper: Washington Apple DSP (112461), Whisper White (106549). Ink: Riding Hood Red (111836), Pumpkin Pie (105216). Accessories: Whisper White 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon (109025). Tools: Scallop Envelope Bigz Die (113462), Sizzix Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine (113439), Standard Premium Crease Pad (113476), Stampin' Dimensionals (104430).
This is made using two Scallop Envelope Dies - another thing you can make with this die (other than an envelope)! The small flower stamp is from Vintage Vogue.
We also did a make-in-take using the Heard From The Heart stamp set and Very Vintage Jumbo Wheel.

Stamps: Heard From The Heart (clear: 1020006). Very Vintage Jumbo Wheel (117693). Card/Paper: Tangerine Tango (116206), Old Olive (106576), Whisper White (106549). Ink: Tangerine Tango (111834), Old Olive (102277). Accessories: White uni-ball Signo Gel Pen (105021). Tools: Clear Block H (118490), Stampin' Around Jumbo Handle (103661), Mat Pack (105826).
I purchased Heard From The Heart as a clear-mount stamp set, along with a clear block. It is a bit different using clear-mount stamps, so it was good to play with them. When thinking about wood-mount and clear-mount stamps, one option is not better than the other; it all comes down to your personal preference and weighing up the pros and cons.

... welcome Vintage Vogue and Scallop Envelope! Yes, the Summer Mini and Sale-a-bration are over for another year. The excitement is now about the new Autumn-Winter Mini Catalogue which was released today!
I found out a couple of days ago that there could be three more kids with us over Easter, so I "whipped up" these little treats and said my goodbyes to the gorgeous Chocolate Bunny from the Summer Mini.

Stamps: Chocolate Bunny (117725), Vintage Vogue (119191), Defining Alphabet (116354). Card/Paper: Kraft (106554), Almost Amethyst (108621), Certainly Celery (108619), Whisper White (106549). Ink: Almost Amethyst (101723), Certainly Celery (105217), Close To Cocoa (103139), Chocolate Chip (100908), VersaMark (102283). Accessories: Clear Stampin' Emboss Powder (109130), Clear Rhinestone Brads (113144), White uni-ball Signo Gel Pen (105021). Tools: Scallop Envelope Bigz Die (113462), Sizzix Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine (113439), Standard Premium Crease Pad (113476), Scallop Circle Punch (109043), 1-3/8" Circle Punch (104401), Scallop Edge Punch (112091), Mat Pack (105826), Stampin' Sponges (101610), Stamp-a-ma-jig (101049), Stampin' Dimensionals (104430).
Believe it or not, this little box is made using the Big Shot with the Scallop Envelope Bigz Die. What is the Big Shot? The Sizzix Big Shot is a die-cutting machine, which has been released in the Autumn Mini along with exclusive Stampin' Up! dies. Watch this space for more information.
Anyhow, I stamped and embellished this little box to match the three door hangers I made last week.

It is amazing just how many things (other than an envelope) that you can make with the Stampin' Up! scallop envelope!
Here are some sneak peaks into the Autumn-Winter Mini...
- The Sizzix Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine, with exclusive dies and embossing folders
- Clear-mount rubber stamps
- Three new punches, now in a new easy-to-store design
- Three new In Colours - cardstock, designer paper, ink and ribbon in Melon Mambo, Soft Suede and Rich Razzleberry
- Plus gorgeous stamp sets, designer papers, accessories, tools and more!
This year saw a change in the release schedule for the Stampin' Up! catalogues. That means that the 2009-2010 Idea Book & Catalogue will be around until the end of August 2010. To see us through until then, we will have the Autumn-Winter Mini Catalogue for five months. No wonder it's so BIG!

For Easter this year I have created four of these great Easter door hangers, one for each of the four kids that will be with us over that period. Each box has the initial of the child that it is for. I hope to surprise them on Easter Sunday morning, a bit like Santa Claus at Christmas!

Stamps: Chocolate Bunny (117725), Vintage Vogue (not available until 1 April), Defining Alphabet (116354). Card/Paper: Kraft (106554), Almost Amethyst (108621), Certainly Celery (108619), Whisper White (106549), Tea Party DSP (113992). Ink: Almost Amethyst (101723), Certainly Celery (105217), Close To Cocoa (103139), Chocolate Chip (100908), VersaMark (102283). Accessories: Clear Stampin' Emboss Powder (109130), Clear Rhinestone Brads (113144), White uni-ball Signo Gel Pen (105021). Tools: 1-3/4" Circle Punch (112004), 1-3/8" Circle Punch (104401), 1-1/4" Circle Punch (104403), Scallop Edge Punch (112091), Boho Blossoms Punch (110711), Mat Pack (105826), Stampin' Sponges (101610), Stamp-a-ma-jig (101049), Stampin' Dimensionals (104430).
And here it is hanging on the door with the chocolate bunny that it was designed around...

There is a lot to say about this project, plus kudos to give...
- I found a really great box design and tutorial by Andrea Walford, but altered it (quite a bit!) so the chocolate bunny fits snuggly inside.
- The overall look of the box was inspired by this gorgeous card by Tessa Wise, but I changed up the colours for Kraft, Almost Amethyst, Certainly Celery and Chocolate Chip.
- The little paper flower is made the same way as the flower for the April Workshop. Instead of using the Scallop Circle Punch, I used the largest flower from the Boho Blossums punch and the smallest Rhinestone Brad. There is a really great tutorial on how to make the Scallop Circle flower by Megan Mcdonald.
- Isn't the bunny scrummy when embossed in Chocolate Chip? He almost looks like chocolate! The Chocolate Bunny stamp is from the Summer Mini so is only available for one more week (until 31 March). Don't forget that Sale-a-bration also finishes on 31 March.
- Can you spot the new stamp set... it is two of the stamps from Vintage Vogue, which can be found in the new Autumn-Winter Mini available from 1 April.

Come for Cake & Coffee... To celebrate the launch of the Autumn-Winter Mini Catalogue I am having cake and coffee at my house on Thursday, 1 April at 7.30 pm, no cost. If you haven't tried the Stampin' Up! envelopes, you must. They are high quality and are also lovely to stamp on (what else would you do with them!). Not only that, they will match any card you make, as they come in Whisper White and Very Vanilla. You will find them on page 131 of the Idea Book & Catalogue.
Did you know that you can change the colour of the envelope by simply inking up your brayer in the colour of your choice and applying it to a Whisper White envelope? Here is a crimped envelope that show this. Rachael Knight is responsible for this lovely design.

Stamps: Razzle Dazzle (117709), Best Yet (Hostess Level 1). Card/Paper: Whisper White C6 Medium Envelope (102588), Rose Red (108613), Kiwi Kiss (116204), Whisper White (106549), Raspberry Tart DSP (113975). Ink: Rose Red (101778), Pretty In Pink (101301). Accessories: Pretty In Pink 1/4" Gosgrain Ribbon (109032). Tools: 1-3/4" Circle Punch (112004), Scallop Circle Punch (109043), 1-3/8" Circle Punch (104401), 1-1/4" Circle Punch (104403), Double Rectangle Punch (105088), Crimper (101618), Brayer (102395), Stampin' Dimensionals (104430).
To colour this envelope I first stamped the image from Razzle Dazzle in Rose Red on a Whisper White envelope. I then punched out a 1-3/4" Circle to use as a mask and placed it over the central stamped image. Loading up my brayer with Pretty In Pink ink, I proceeded to re-colour the envelope. Removing the mask reveals the original colour of the envelope.
Razzle Dazzle is in the Summer Mini, so is only available until the end of this month.
Here is a similar crimped envelope card/gift that I made for my brother-in-law's birthday. We gave him a gift card, which slides in the pocket of the "card", which goes in the envelope. No we didn't give him a Stevens gift card. When I took this photo, I didn't have the gift card so had to find a substitute. For your information, we gave him a Mitre 10 gift card - much more manly!

Stamps: Happy Moments (SAB 118786), Best Yet (Hostess Level 1). Card/Paper: Whisper White C6 Medium Envelope (102588), Chocolate Chip (108599), Ruby Red (106572), Whisper White (106549), Holiday Treasures DSP (112469). Ink: Chocolate Chip (100908), Old Olive (102277), Ruby Red (102259), Baja Breeze (111833). Accessories: Chocolate Chip 1/4" Gosgrain Ribbon (111367). Tools: 1-3/4" Circle Punch (112004), Scallop Circle Punch (109043), 1-3/8" Circle Punch (104401), 1-1/4" Circle Punch (104403), Double Rectangle Punch (105088), Crimper (101618), Brayer (102395), Blender Pen (102845), Stampin' Dimensionals (104430).
Oh look, Happy Moments turns up again! Not long now and this stamp set will no longer be available...

These cute little note cards are my tribute to some of the out-going stamp sets and accessories...

Stamps: Happy Moments (SAB 118786), Butterfly Prints (117711). Card/Paper: Always Artichoke (108610), Rose Red (108613), Whisper White (106549). Ink: Rose Red (101778), Always Artichoke (105219). Tools: Butterfly Punch (116629), Mat Pack (105826).
The butterflies are from the Butterfly Prints stamp set, punched out using the Butterfly Punch, both from the Summer Mini. The sentiment is from the Happy Moments Sale-a-bration stamp set. Both the Summer Mini and Sale-a-bration end on 31 March. That's only two weeks way, so don't wait too long before ordering from these two catalogues.
I made these cards to give to everyone who has (and will) place an order during the month of March. Enjoy!

This month in our workshops we made Secret Message Cards, where you open the card and the inside image changes. I found instructions on how to make these cards in the Australian Cardmaking Stamping & Papercraft Magazine (Vol 15 No 7).
I had two birthdays in late February and decided to make the card from the workshops, changing up the colours.

Stamps: Happy Moments (SAB 118786), Whimsical Words (SAB 118782). Card/Paper: Basic Black (106561), Whisper White (106549), Real Red (106578). Ink: VersaMark (102283), Basic Black (101179), Basic Grey (109120), Real Read (103133). Accessories: Black Embossing Powder (109133). Tools: Crimper (101618), Scallop Circle Punch (109043), 1-3/8" Circle Punch (104401), Blender Pen (102845), Stampin' Dimensionals (104430). Techniques: Embossing, Water Colouring.

Stamps: Happy Moments (SAB 118786), Whimsical Words (SAB 118782). Card/Paper: Old Olive (106576), Tangerine Tango (116206), Whisper White (106549), So Saffron (108611). Ink: VersaMark (102283), Close To Cocoa (103139), Tangerine Tango (111834), So Saffron (105213), Old Olive (102277). Accessories: White Embossing Powder (109132). When you open these cards, the birthday cake image on the inside changes to reveal...

These Sale-a-bration stamp sets are so versatile. Out of all the Sale-a-bration stamp sets I have given away, the most popular set is Happy Moments (closely followed by Whimsical Words). If you have still to get a free Sale-a-bration set, then you have only got two weeks to go...

As I have heard from a number of people on different occasions - cards for men are difficult. This post is designed to inspire your creativity for men's cards. This first card I made a while ago for a 90th birthday:

Stamps: Life Definitions (115928), Sincere Saluations (116416), Crazy For Cupcakes (115780). Card/Paper: Chocolate Chip (108599), Whisper White (106549), Kiwi Kiss DSP (112161). Ink: Chocolate Chip (100908), Kiwi Kiss (111835). Accessories: Chocolate Chip Marker Pen (100071), Whisper White Basic Jumbo Grommets (114348), Chocolate Chip 5/8" Grosgrain Ribbon (109051). Tools: Daubers (102892), 1/2" Circle Punch (104390).
Last weekend we had a demonstrator training day. As as you know, when demonstrators get together they swap! The theme for the weekend's swaps were masculine cards. Here are my 30 swaps!

Stamps: Happy Moments (SAB 118786). Card/Paper: Kiwi Kiss (), Kiwi Kiss DSP (112161116204), Real Red (106578), Chocolate Chip (108599), Whisper White (106549). Ink: Kiwi Kiss (111835), Chocolate Chip (100908), VersaMark (102283). Accessories: Hemp Twine (100982), Clear Embossing Powder (109130), Crystal Effects (101055), Kiwi Kiss Ink Refill (111842), Bashful Blue Ink Refill (105221), Real Red Ink Refill (103287). Tools: Distressing Tool from the Cutter Kit (106958), Sponge Daubers (102892), Stamp-a-ma-jig (101049), Heat Tool (106586).
The technique I used for this card I gleened from Danielle Daws. First you emboss your image. Then mix Crystal Effects with drops of ink from re-inkers and use a fine brush to colour your image. Once it has dried, the colour is glossy and looks like a ceramic glaze.

Here are a selection of swaps that I received on the weekend:

I hope that this has been inspiring and you enjoy making a card for that special man (or men) in your life.
I created this card when I made the name tags for the ladies who attended the Hamilton Extravaganza. Like the name tags, it uses the For Everything stamp set, the Crayon-Resist technique and colours drawn from the Pink Flamingo DSP. In fact, a piece of that DSP is intricately cut out and adhered in front of the stamping create depth.

Stamps: For Everything (116686). Card/Paper: Pink Flamingo DSP (113976), Tempting Turquoise (108598), Whisper White (106549). Ink: Chocolate Chip (100908), Cameo Coral (103035), Summer Sun (100537), Tempting Turquiose (100804), Real Red(103133). Tools: Sponges (101610), Stamp-a-ma-jig (101049), Scallop Oval Punch (114889), Large Oval Punch (107305), Stampin' Dimensionals (104430). Non SU!: White Crayon. Techniques: Crayon-Resist.
Crayon-Resist is fun and really easy. Stamp your outline image on a piece of Whisper White or glossy card. Use a white crayon and highlight any areas of the image that you don't want coloured (ie. to remain white). Sponge ink over the image and card (you can use one colour or many). Finally, use a clean sponge or a tissue to wipe any ink off the areas you applied the crayon to.
- QUICK TIP: Use your Craft and Rubber Scissors to cut your sponges into eight. This will make them into an easy to hold wedge. Plus, Stampin' Up! Stamping Sponges come in a pack of three, if you cut them you will have 24 sponges to use!
I love the For Everything stamp set. Not only does it lend itself really well to the Crayon-Resist technique (as you can see), it is also great for water colouring. You will find the For Everytihing stamp set in the Summer Mini, which is only available until the end of this month.

Here is another card that was inspired by Pink Flamingo DSP and the Extravaganza name tags. It too uses the For Everything stamp set and the Crayon-Resist technique.

Stamps: For Everything (116686). Card/Paper: Pink Flamingo DSP (113976), Summer Sun (108604), Whisper White (106549). Ink: Chocolate Chip (100908), Cameo Coral (103035), Summer Sun (100537), Tempting Turquiose (100804), Real Red(103133). Tools: Sponges (101610), Stamp-a-ma-jig (101049), Circle Scissor Plus (112530), Scallop Square Punch (112081), Stampin' Dimensionals (104430). Non SU!: White Crayon. Techniques: Crayon-Resist.

This card was inspired by the many Circle Circus cards that use this layout style. For the circles I used the Vintage Labels and Baroque Motifs stamp sets. I don't usually use black, but this card demanded contrast, so I used Elegant Eggplant and Whisper White to get the same effect.

Stamps: Vintage Labels (SAB 118784), Baroque Motifs (116340). Card/Paper: Whisper White (106549), Elegant Eggplant (108614). Ink: Elegant Egg Plant (105210). Tools: Circle Scissor Plus (112530), Scallop Circle Punch (109043), 1-3/8" Circle Punch (104401), 1-1/4" Circle Punch (104403), 1" Circle Punch (109046), 3/4" Circle Punch (107217), 1/2" Circle Punch (104390), Stampin Dimensionals (104430).

The circular stamp used on this card is from Vintage Labels, which is a Sale-a-bration stamp set. Don't forget that these stamp sets only available until the end of this month.

Here is another Moving Circle Card. This one is for my sister-in-law's birthday.

Stamps: Bitty Birthday (115762), Sprinkles (116418), Whimsical Words (SAB 118782). Card/Paper: Riding Hood Red (116205), Very Vanilla (106550), Candy Lane DSP (113980). Ink: Close To Cocoa (103139), Riding Hood Red (111836), Kiwi Kiss (111835). Accessories: Very Vanilla 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon (109026), Scallop Oval Punch (114889), Large Oval Punch (107305), Clear Rhinstone Brad (113144). Tools: Circle Scissor Plus (112530), Mat Pack (105826), Blender Pens (102845), Stampin' Dimensionals (104430). Techniques: Water Colouring.
And once you open it...

Since it was a 40th birthday party, I thought that the wording "the more candles the bigger the wish!" was really appropriate!
- Don't forget that the Scallop Oval Punch is a write-in from the Spring Mini, which means that you can still order it. Check out the Corrections and Write-Ins page to find out what else is still available.
