On Sunday we held the Hamilton Stamptacular, where there were ten demonstrators and fifty guests. The day had an airport theme: there was a Check-In Desk, passports, a departures area (where the retiring stamp sets and products were on display) and an arrivals area (where some of the the new stamp sets and products were displayed). Each guest got to make four projects, which introduced them to new techniques and ideas. It was a great day and surprisingly relaxing!
Each of my guests received a monogrammed information pack when they arrived. For these I stamped a clear L-file with flowers and ivy from Vintage Vogue using white Stazon and stamped and cut out smaller flowers, added some glitter, and popped them up using dimensionals...

Stamps: Vintage Vogue (wood: 119191). Card/Paper: Riding Hood Red (116205), Whisper White (106549), Candy Lane DSP (113980). Ink: Cotton White Stazon (106960), Close To Cocoa (103139), Riding Hood Red (111836), Pink Pirouette (111838). Accessories: Dazzling Diamonds Stampin' Glitter (102023). Tools: Timeless Type Junior Alphabet Sizzlits Die (115951), Sizzix Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine (113439), Scallop Circle Punch (109043), 1-3/8" Circle Punch (104401), 1-1/4" Circle Punch (104403), Daubers (102892), 2-way Glue Pen (100425), Stampin' Dimensionals (104430).
I thought that they may need to "take a break" during the day, so each guest also got cute little packs containing two mini Kit Kat bars. These treat pouches are made using two Scallop Envelope die-cuts...

Stamps: Vintage Vogue (wood: 119191). Card/Paper: Very Vanilla (106550), Candy Lane DSP (113980). Ink: Riding Hood Red (111836), Pretty In Pink (101301). Accessories: Dazzling Diamonds Stampin' Glitter (102023), Very Vanilla 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon (109026). Tools: Scallop Envelope Bigz Die (113462), Sizzix Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine (113439), Standard Premium Crease Pad (113476), 2-way Glue Pen (100425), Stampin' Dimensionals (104430).
Also everyone had a chance to win one of nine door prizes, a scrapbooking kit and the brand new soon-to-be released 2010-2011 Idea Book & Catalogue - ooh ahh! Of the eight guests that booked into the Stamptacular under me, three won door prizes and one of my guests won the coverted new catalogue! Way to go!
Each of the demonstrators contributed an item for the door prizes. Now I can't show you here the one that I made because it uses products from the new catalogue. But here is a sneak peek...

How many new products can you see there??? After 1 September, when the new catalogue has been released, I will put up all the details of the door prize.
Here are some more pictures for you to feast your eyes on. These are the wonderful projects that everyone got to make at the Stamptacular...
This fantastic mini album, complete with pull-out journalling areas, was designed by Natasha Lipsey. For this project we got to play with the Stamp-a-ma-jig and create a gorgeous punch art plane for the front.

The design of this lovely New Baby card is called a Side-Step card and uses the very easy, but very effective Kissing Technique. This lovely card was designed by Rayleen Baker.

Everyone got to play with heat embossing and the Big Shot to make this great Pad and Pen Holder, which was designed by Patrice Halliday Larsen.

This card was inspired by Alisa Tilsner and included colouring ribbon and the Embossed Reinker Spread Technique. It is stamped using the retiring Embrace Life stamp set, which is currently 25% off!

For the 3-cards in 3-hours Workshop we made three cards, each one with a different re-inker technique. Did you know that ink refills can be used as a tool? They are not just for re-inking our stamp pads and Stampin' Around wheel cartridges.
One of the techniques we used is called the Polished Stone technique. This uses Isopropyl Alcohol and ink refills to create a lovely marbled effect. It is great to use as a background, which is what we did on the Upsy Daisy Scallop Circle card. On this card I used that same technique to colour one of the flowers from the Fifth Avenue Floral stamp set:

Stamps: Fifth Avenue Floral (115796), Lovely Labels (116390). Card/Paper: Tempting Turquoise (108598), Rich Razzleberry (119981), Basic Black (106561), Whisper White (106549), Glossy White (106555). Ink: Tempting Turquoise (100814), VersaMark (102283). Accessories: Black Stampin' Emboss Powder (109133), White Stampin' Emboss Powder (109132), Tempting Turquoise Ink Refill (101041), Rich Razzleberry Ink Refill (115664). Tools: Embossing Buddy (103083), Heat Tool (106586), Scallop Circle Punch (109043), 1-3/8" Circle Punch (104401), Scallop Edge Punch (112091), Stampin' Dimensionals (104430). Non-SU!: Isopropyl Alcohol, cotton balls.
Firstly, I stamped the flower using VersaMark on Glossy White card then heat embossed it using black embossing powder. If you are using glossy card, make sure you use an Embossing Buddy because otherwise you will end up with specks where you don't want them. I then applied the colour and once it was dry I cut the flower out and popped it up on Stampin' Dimensionals.

I gave everyone who placed an order at the 3-cards in 3-hours workshop one of these cards as my thanks to them. Thank you!

The theme of this ATC swap was children. I knew I wanted to use a photo of my baby son's hand (who is now four). When I went hunting through all our photos I didn't find the photo I was looking for, but instead found a photo of my son's hand with my Great Nana's hand, which I just love. The photo was taken at my Great Nana's 100th birthday, it is her hand and my, then, 1 month-old boy.

Stamps: Scribble This (116406). Card/Paper: Sahara Sand (106552), Whisper White (106549). Ink: Sahara Sand (105208), VersaMark (102283). Accessories: White Stampin' Emboss Powder (109132), White uni-Ball Signo Gel Pen (105021). Tools: Heat Tool (106586), Mat Pack (105826), Daubers (102892).
The wording on the photo says, "one century and five generations apart... together". I titled the ATC, "youngest generation".
Here is some more information about my ATC:
And here are the lovely ATC swaps that I received...

Aren't they gorgeous and so different from each other. Oops, I just realised that I have photographed the "friend" ACT swap turned landscape instead of portrait (sorry Vicky-Lee).
About the month ago I put up a picture of the birthday card that Miss-Nine made for her sister's birthday. At the end of the post I teased you by saying that I had made a card for my daughter but did not want to post it yet as it has a lovely technique that I planned to use for a workshop. Well here is the promised card...

Stamps: Sincere Salutations (116416). Card/Paper: Rich Razzleberry (119981), Kiwi Kiss (116204), Whisper White (106549). Ink: Rich Razzleberry (115658), Tempting Turquoise (100814). Accessories: Tempting Turquoise Marker (100058), Kiwi Kiss button (Button Bouquet: 112092). Tools: Polka Dot Textured Impressions Folder (117335), Sizzix Big Shot (113439), Eyelet Border Punch (1013692), Color Spritzer (107066), Stamping Sponges (101610), Mini Glue Dots (103683), Stampin' Dimensionals (104430).
Once again, the colour of this card was inspired by the colour challenge from Just Add Ink #22. But it wasn't finished in time for the challenge deadline. This is not a colour combination that I would usually put together, but I really love it and have had a lot of great comments about it.
In the May workshops we created gorgeous cards using the Fresh Cut Notes. Well, the sponged flowers on this card were created by using the Fresh Cut Notes as a stencil. You can sponge them...

Or you can use the spritzer through the stencil, which is what I did on the inside of the card and envelope front...

Because the card and the colour scheme was such a success, I decided to include a variation of this card in the August workshop. Come along and play with some way-cool Stampin' Up! tools and learn a new technique or two.

Yep, I have had my Medallion stamp out again! I just can't resist using it as it is a wonderful background. It is really lovely with neutrals and vintage-type colours like Soft Suede. I made these cards to give to everyone who has (and will) place an order during the month of July.

Stamps: Medallion (119175), Flight of the Butterfly (115798). Card/Paper: Soft Suede (119982), Elegant Eggplant (108614), Rose Red (108613), Very Vanilla (106550). Ink: Soft Suede (115657), Rose Red (101778). Tools: 1-3/8" Circle Punch (104401), 1-1/4" Circle Punch (104403), Butterfly Punch (116629), Eyelet Border Punch (1013692), Sponge Daubers (102892), Mini Glue Dots (103683), Stampin' Dimensionals (104430).
The colours of these cards were inspired by the rich colour challenge from Just Add Ink #25. But as per usual, I didn't get around to making these cards until after the challenge had closed. I love the colour combination of Soft Suede, Elegant Eggplant, Rose Red and Very Vanilla.

This card also features the butterfly and sentiment from Flight of the Butterfly stamp set. We used this beautiful stamp set for one of the July Workshop projects.

Here is another gorgeous birthday card that I recieved. This gate-fold card came from my friend Rose...

Rose is really proud of her creation, and she should be! I love the colour combination of Rich Razzleberry and Soft Suede.
The technique that Rose used to colour this card is called Emboss-Resist. It is called that because when you sponge ink over embossing, the embossing "resists" the ink and you can just wipe it off, leaving this lovely impression...

This card features another lovely stamp set from the Autumn-Winter Mini Catalogue - Vintage Vogue.

My birthday was on Sunday and I received some really lovely cards. Who would have thought!
I want to share a very special one that I got from my Mother-In-Law. Lyn makes beautiful cards and I always look forward to catching up with her and seeing what she has created lately. Well, here is the beautiful card that I got from Mum for my birthday...

And the inside...
